Written Mediation agreement

Written Mediation agreement

Q Discussion: You are at the resolution state of the mediation and ready to write an agreement for the parties. You should include the party’s names and date of the mediation. Assume that the mediation was for a newly separated couple who are trying to resolve the sole issue of a child parenting schedule for the parents to share time with their 6-year-old child, Jane, who is entering 1st grade this year. The parents now live in different apartments, but are in the same complex, and will exchange the child in the lobby of the apartment building. They agree to the following schedule: One week on and one week off with the child. On their off-week, the child will have dinner with the off-parent from 4 to 6 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The exchange of the child for the week will be on Sundays at 4 PM. When summer vacation starts, each parent will be able to have two of their weeks with the child, uninterrupted by the other parent’s weekly off-parent dinners. The parents agree to share time with the child, Jane, during holidays by agreement one week prior to each holiday. For Jane’s birthday, the parents agree to allow the parent that has her per the agreed schedule to have her for the whole day and the other parent to have Jane on the following day for an extended dinner visit (from 4PM to 8PM) unless the day following Jane’s birthday falls on a Saturday, then there is no need for changing the weekly schedule. For your initial post, take this resolution and write an agreement for the close of this mediation. Please do not write out a calendar. Using the tips provided in the module notes on an effective closing agreement, make sure your closing agreement can be understood by anyone reading the agreement. In your responses to your fellow students, highlight the strengths of the agreement, as well as make suggestions for clarity and detail.
